When I was in law school, I had all the time in the world to workout. And I took advantage of it. Boxing, yoga, cycling, lifting weights like a maniac – even running. I felt and looked great. But I was spending over 10-15 hours a week to get those results.
Cut to lawyer life. My rise as a young entertainment lawyer came with long, stress-filled hours sitting on my ass. All of a sudden, I was lucky to get an hour in at the gym in the morning a few days a week. It wreaked havoc on my mojo and my thighs.
So I did what I thought I should do: Add more time. I spent Saturday mornings at the office and 3 hours on the afternoons at the gym. I added time and days to my morning routine. Results were okay but not spectacular. I certainly wasn’t getting the return on my time.
I needed a solution. Enter Lagree Fitness.
I’d heard it was the secret to how Brooke Burke, uber-fit celeb and mother of four, kept her body banging. That was enough for me.
In January 2009, I went to my first Lagree Fitness class in Brentwood, CA. Every other person in class was incredibly fit, so I was pumped. Class started and within 5 minutes I thought I was going to die. It was that hard. But I was hooked. So in addition to my daily gym schedule, I started to take the recommended 3 classes a week.
After a month, I was seeing a few changes, but I wasn’t getting stronger in class. My instructor called me out on it. My lame defense was that I’d lifted that morning at the gym and wasn’t able to give my all at class in the evening.
She gave me an ultimatum: Stop doing other things. Come to class 3 times a week and push your limits. Do this for 6 weeks and your body will completely change. She was right. I did and it did. Completely.
I’d finally unlocked the future: You don’t need more time. You need more intensity.
I'm a woman on a mission to lead people to experience the future of fitness. Will you join our revolution?
