WHAT IS FIREBARRE?

FireBarre is our signature 50-minute results-driven, low-impact cardio barre class, uniquely designed to define, tone and elongate muscles while simultaneously elevating your heart rate to a fat burning level using high-intensity interval training. Unlike other barre workouts, FireBarre focuses on more than just shaping the muscles; it melts away the extra pounds so you can actually see those muscles!

FireBarre’s simple, yet effective ballet-inspired conditioning exercises are performed to an energizing beat in a pumped up atmosphere. (Think: high-energy, fun, sweaty dance club!) Our Barre-tenders slowly speed up the tempo of each series to fire up the heart rate, leaving you breathless and shaping the underlying muscles to develop lean legs, delicately defined arms and a trim waist cinched from the inside out.

HOW IS FIREBARRE DIFFERENT THAN OTHER BARRE WORKOUTS?

FireBarre is cardio-focused barre. We concentrate on melting away the extra pounds so you can see the long, lean muscles that we develop both in this class and in Pyrolates. Think of FireBarre as a cardio dance class where we use the barre for support and our ballet-inspired conditioning exercises to work in multiple planes of motion, making FireBarre a great alternative to or supplement for traditional, single motion cardio (running, spinning, etc.). You will leave this class sweaty, energetic, on an endorphin high and addicted! Our FireBarre classes are also smaller in size, allowing for more personal attention.

HOW DO FIREBARRE AND PYROLATES WORK TOGETHER?

FireBarre was specifically developed to complement the Lagree Fitness method underlying our Pyrolates classes. In Pyrolates, we deliver total body, muscle shaking endurance-based strength and cardio training, lengthening the muscles and strengthening them from within. In FireBarre, we take the cardio to the next level by incorporating high-intensity interval training in order to maximize fat loss and intensify the results you see from our Megaformer workout. Think of Pyrolates as being “shaken” and FireBarre as being “stirred”! They are the perfect combo!

HOW OFTEN DO I HAVE TO TAKE FIREBARRE TO SEE RESULTS?

We recommend taking class 2-4 times a week to feel and see visible results in six weeks or less. It’s highly addictive and safe to do multiple times per week because the exercises are low-impact and the exercises change every class. Even adding one weekly FireBarre class to your Pyrolates routine will intensify the results you see from being on the Megaformer!

WHAT IF I AM A BEGINNER OR HAVE INJURIES?

Please make sure to arrive to class at least 10 minutes before class starts in order to speak to your instructor prior to class so that your instructor can give you modifications and suggestions on how to take the class at your own pace.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?

We recommend tight-fitting clothes that breathe and allow you to move easily. We require socks with grips or other studio shoes intended for indoor use only. No bare feet! We offer the latest selection dance-specific grip socks in the studio!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING AND NOT BRING INTO CLASS?


  • Make sure to bring a towel – or more if you’re planning to shower. We sell small towels in our lobby.
  • Also be sure to bring water – lots of it. We sell bottled water at Firebrand. We also offer a purified water system for you to fill up your reusable bottle. For safety reasons, no glass bottles or jars please!
  • Socks with grips or other studio shoes intended for indoor use only. No bare feet!
  • Leave your backpack, purse, duffel, coat, shopping bags, etc. outside in a locker. For safety reasons and out of respect for your neighbors in class, we do not permit anything other than you, your water bottle and a towel into the studio. We ask that you utilize the lockers.
  • Leave the strong perfumes and lotions for after class, as some students are allergic.
  • No cell phones, tablets or other PDAs in class. Leave them in a locker or if you are expecting an urgent call at the front desk, where we can get you in an emergency. Treat yourself to 50 minutes of peace!

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR A FIREBARRE CLASS?

Arrive about 10-15 minutes before class, in order to stash your stuff in a locker, grab some water and take a spot at the barre. This is especially true if you’re a beginner, need a little more time or have an injury. Class starts on time. Every time. Be considerate to your fellow students. Firebrand reserves the right to close classes after 10 minutes after scheduled start time. Plus we like it when you come early and we can say hello to you before class!

IS FIREBARRE A CLASS FOR MEN?

Yes! Men benefit from the high-intensity interval training that is the basis for the class, improving their cardiovascular fitness, stripping fat, uncovering lean muscle and building flexibility!
